Evonne Vey, Art displayEvonne Vey was born in Melbourne, Australia and originally studied commercial art at the Caulfield School of Art. Although her career led her into the field of computers she designed posters wherever she was employed, advertising their social events. Evonne was working at the NASA Tracking Station at Honeysuckle Creek, near Canberra as a computer specialist when she met and married an American Engineer from the Goddard Space Flight Center in Maryland. Upon her arrival in America she and her husband moved to rural Calvert County, MD., where later she studied with numerous artists but mostly developed her style of realistic depiction of animals through practical experience of many years.

In the mid 7Os, shortly after the Humane Society of Calvert County, Inc., was founded, Evonne, who had many pets herself became a member and heavily involved in improving the condition and treatment of animals in the area. She became Vice President and wrote a weekly Pet column which was published in the two local newspapers. Evonne is now a staunch supporter of Bunny Magic Rabbit Rescue, Inc., P.A.W.S., (Patuxent Animal Welfare Society) and also Friends of Felines; she designs artwork for them as well as for many other charitable organizations especially Animal Welfare Groups in Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and California.

Evonne, a vegetarian, is also an animal rights activist and has an e-group, The Natural Rabbit, a group of dedicated people that make sure their voices are heard when speaking out for the domestic rabbit in their effort to improve its life and status in the United States.
